Where Feeling Better Really Starts: Your Gut
Hey friend,
If you ever feel bloated, heavy, or just off after you eat, I want you to know that's your gut telling you something. It's not in your head, and it's not just "how it is now." When my gut was a mess, I felt it everywhere, low energy, cranky moods, all of it.
So much of feeling good really does start in your gut. It's where your body breaks down your food and takes in the good stuff. When it's not working well, you can eat all the right things and still feel lousy.
Two easy things helped me most, and neither one is fancy.
The first is water. I start every morning with a big glass before anything else. You just spent 7 to 9 hours asleep without a single sip, so your body wakes up needing it. Then I keep water with me through the day instead of only drinking when I finally remember.
The second is real food with fiber, the kind that keeps things moving. Think veggies, fruit, beans, oats, and whole grains. I also slow down when I eat. So many of us eat lunch at our desk, half-working and half-scrolling, barely tasting it. When you actually sit down and slow down, your gut can do its job better.

Want to start today? Drink a big glass of water first thing in the morning, and sit down for one meal away from your desk and eat it slowly. Small, I know. But these little things add up faster than you'd think.
If you want a simple, gentle plan for all of this, my Midlife Reset Playbook walks you through the foundations one easy step at a time.
You've got this.
Love you big,
Jen
