Stay Hydrated
Being hydrated improves metabolism up to 33% It's nearly impossible to lose weight when your body is dehydrated. Start by drinking at least half your body weight in ounces of water a day and work yourself up to a full gallon a day. Keep a daily log of your water intake by simply marking it down on paper or using a smart watch. I have the Garmin Lily and love it!
Move Your Body
In order for us to keep off excess weight it's important for us to burn more calories in a day than what we consume. Try to move your body each and every day and make it a goal to get 10,000 steps by going for a walk. It can be any type of physical activity just move your body!
Plan Your Meals & Keep it Simple
Life gets busy we all know. Planning your meals ahead of time and keeping them simple helps with portion control and also eating unneccessary calories or making a quick stop to the nearest fast food joint. I enjoy prepping my meals on Sunday so I'm ready for the week and to keep up with my lifestyle goals!

Sleep is when our body recovers and is crucial for a healthy lifestyle. Try to get at least 6-8 hours of interupted sleep each night. Your body and mind will thank you.

Protein is harder for your body to break down so your body works harder to digest and as a result you burn off more of those calories! Tracking your fitness and nutrition progress on a daily basis is the most effective way for you to reach those lifestyle goals. It holds you accountable and also helps you stay on track! Try using a nutrition & fitness journal to keep track of your daily food and exercise. In addition, I use a Garmin Lily Smartwatch to track my steps, heart rate, water intake, and so much more. There are so many watches out there to choose from but definitely track your progress daily!
